The Stott Pilates Group SPX Max Plus Reformer provides a lot of value in a compact package, offering all of the same features and innovations as the V2 Max Plus Reformer, but built lower to the ground and with a narrower frame width to accommodate mixed use facilities. This lightweight, cost effective Reformer is specifically engineered for shared spaces in multipurpose studios. Weighing only 100 pounds, stackable, and easily stored, the Group SPX Max Plus Reformer offers a full complement of Reformer accessories to expand programming options. When stacking, shoulder rests slide easily into brackets affixed to the frame, and reinforced pulley bars detach and stow for easy storage without needing to disengage the ropes. A rolling base adds convenience when storing in a stacked position. Includes recoiling rope reels for additional carriage fluidity.
Numerous technical innovations include the retractable rope and traveling pulley system on the vertical frame, which replicate the free, multidimensional movements of daily life. This increased range of motion enables the unit to serve as a professional grade tool for Pilates-based, sport-specific, rehabilitation, and cross-training movements. Multitasking as a raised Mat platform (with the inclusion of a Mat Converter), a standard Reformer, a virtual Cadillac, and a multi-planar biomechanics training tool, this machine is ideal for implementing multifaceted, cutting-edge Pilates programs in a compact space. Wide-ranging adjustability accommodates a myriad of experience levels and physical skill sets. Ultra rigid rails and the patented rolling mechanism provide a whisper-smooth carriage ride, while the carriage itself features dense EVA foam padding for precise proprioceptive feedback. The Group SPX Max Plus Reformer is built to excel through continuous, high-inensity studio use, and the machine’s construction and high-quality materials ensure superior stability and safety for the life of the product.
An extraordinarily versatile piece of Pilates equipment, this machine is outfitted with five Reformer springs (four full-tension, one half-tension, and quarter-tension optional), removable shoulder rests, soft Reformer loops and ropes, and secure spring housing system. The vertical frame is equipped with two push-through springs, two roll-down springs with maple roll-down bar, two arm springs with foam-grip handles, two leg springs with padded long spine straps, extension straps, safety chain, two traveling spring hooks, and two traveling pulleys. Three gear bar positions, six carriage stopping positions, three headrest positions, and four foot bar positions enable the user to truly tailor Pilates programs to meet individuals’ needs.

About the Stott Pilates Method
Stott Pilates is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by Joseph Pilates. Co-founders Moira and Lindsay G. Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent over two decades refining the method and equipment. This resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and most effective methods available. The Stott Pilates method is used by rehab and prenatal clients, athletes, celebrities and everyone in between.
Stott Pilates vs. other Pilates techniques
Stott Pilates incorporates modern exercise principles including contemporary thinking about spinal rehabilitation and athletic performance enhancement. Exercises are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and rebalance the muscles around the joints, placing more emphasis on scapular stabilization. As well, there are more preparatory exercises and modifications to cater to many different body types and abilities, making it applicable to everyday life.
Stott Pilates Method Principles
Stott Pilates increases core strength and balances the muscles around the joints, improving the way your body functions, looks and feels. Basic principles focus on:
- Breathing
- Pelvic placement
- Rib cage placement
- Scapular movement
- Head and cervical spine placement
